More strutting around

Unable to do any turning myself, I took some 50mm aluminium to work with a rough drawing, and asked a friend called Steve to make some pads.

They turned (pardon the pun) out terrifically. While resting the chassis on the pads, I could see the struts needed considerable shaping, so this was done with files and abrasive paper.

The more rounded shape was more pleasing to the eye, and better suited to the overall curves evident in other parts of the case.

It was about this time that I noticed that the struts really weren’t right. In fact, they'd been playing on my mind for quite a while.
